About

Teresa Jordan is an artist and author who lives in Southern Utah on the edge of Zion National Park with her husband, musician Hal Cannon, a goofball dog, a few cows, and a small flock of Navajo Churro sheep.

Nearly every day, as a meditation practice, she draws or paints something from her ordinary life. It might be the sheep outside her door, a friend’s cat, a salt shaker, a watering can, a red pepper in the garden. This practice reminds her that there is beauty in even the smallest components of our world, and calm in the midst of chaos. Many of these sketches inspire larger paintings.

In 2021, she completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Certification Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach offered through the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley.
